Introducing Educreations 2.0!

Chris and I started Educreations with a dream of enabling all students to learn on their own terms, anytime, from anywhere. Today, more than 400,000 teachers in over 50,000 schools use Educreations to reach and impact millions of students inside and outside the classroom. That’s more than 1 in 10 teachers and nearly half of all schools in the US. We’re thrilled by all of the amazing work that teachers are doing with Educreations.

Better Than Ever

Today, we’re incredibly excited to announce version 2.0. With this release, we’re taking our biggest step ever toward realizing our original vision for the product. Our team has worked extremely hard on lots of great new features that will help you make better video lessons, share them more easily, and monitor student activity right within the app. You can learn all about the new features on our redesigned website, and we hope you will download the app update to see for yourself.

Along with the improvements we’ve made to our free app, we’re introducing a new paid option called Educreations Pro. Our Pro Classroom and Pro School plans offer many additional features for teachers, students, and administrators. Educreations Pro provides the ultimate Educreations experience, and while it’s not free, it is affordable, at less than $2.50 per student.

Still Available for FREE

Educreations has always been free, and it will continue to be available for free. It’s important to us that everyone has the opportunity to teach and learn using Educreations, regardless of their ability to pay. We do this because we love helping people learn new things, and we remain committed to serving teachers and students everywhere.

Most free products that you use are supported by advertising. As the saying goes, “if you’re not paying for the product, then you are the product.” We don’t think ads belong in any educational product that’s used by students. We will never put ads in our products or sell your information to third parties. Plain and simple.

We’re a small team working to do all that we can to improve education. Our goal is to continue making innovative products that teachers and students love to use. In order to do that, we have to make money. If Educreations is adding value to your work, we hope you will consider purchasing Educreations Pro to enjoy the best Educreations experience, and to support the work we’re doing to make it even more useful for you. We will do everything we can to make sure the value you get from Educreations Pro far exceeds what it costs.

If you’re not able to upgrade to Pro, we hope you will continue to use our free Basic Edition. Our free option still includes all the same great features you’ve always enjoyed for free, plus some new features that let you save a draft of your work-in-progress, save your favorite lessons, track your viewing history, and create and manage classes that students can join right within the app. Our free plan includes 50MB of storage space, which is enough for about 90 minutes of recorded lessons. As a way of thanking our existing users, we’ve provided everyone with enough additional free space to store all of your existing lessons, with room to spare for new lessons. That space is yours to use for free, forever. If you’re ever running low on space, you might consider deleting old lessons to make room for new ones. Or, we hope you will consider upgrading to Pro. Please tell your administrator about all the benefits that you and your students are getting from Educreations, and request that they purchase the Pro School Edition so that you and others at your school can enjoy the same benefits.

Our Commitment to Teachers

As part of our ongoing commitment to support teachers, we will refund to teachers the entire cost of their current Pro subscription if their school purchases the Pro School plan. We think it’s important to offer individual teachers an option to upgrade, but our goal is to sell to schools, not teachers. To do that effectively, we rely on teachers to tell administrators about the difference that Educreations is making for their students.
